Laser therapy, also known as Photobiomodulation therapy is used to increase blood flow to the area it is being used on. It does this by causing vasodilation of the blood vessels, it also reduces inflammation and has an analgesic effect. In doing this laser will promote healing and provide pain relief. The laser is often used on joints and trigger points (knots) in muscles.
